Bright Angel Trail

The Bright Angel Trail is the most common backpacker’s route down into Grand Canyon. This maintained trail has a beautiful stopping point at Indian Gardens for rest and shade, and then we finish our hike down to the mighty Colorado itself. This 9.6-mile hike from the South Rim to the Bright Angel campground is gorgeous, with stunning views and several spots to rest and take in the scenery. The Bright Angel Campground is next to the famous Phantom Ranch, and offers an endless variety of short day hikes and places to explore!
