Utilizing a mix of class sessions, hands -on practice and emergency scenarios, we teach you how to: Recognize and provide care for life-threatening injuries, evaluate and provide long-term patient care, be a backcountry leader and to SURVIVE!

Be Prepared. While no physical conditioning is required, please be prepared for doing regular demonstrations and scenarios outside. Wear clothing that is durable, with sturdy footwear, that you won’t mind getting dirty. Also, be prepared to be the sun and/or cold, depending on forecast. Conditions can vary throughout the day, so prepared for any conditions.

You are going to spend time outside! Classroom sessions are supported by hands-on outdoor training and rescue scenarios. This class is PERFECT if you are just getting started, have a job working outdoors, or want to increase your knowledge and confidence in the wilderness.


Day 1 – Saturday

8AM – Arrive at training location
8:30AM – Class Start
12:00PM – Lunch
1:00PM – Class resumes
5:00PM – Class ends

Day 2 – Sunday

Course Overview

Accidents happen. Would you know what to do? Get a nationally recognized WFA certification through 4Points Solo Accredited School and be prepared when things go sideways. The emphasis is on making good decisions by staying calm and safe, doing a good patient assessment, and having good communication and leadership.

During two days of classroom and outdoor scenarios, students will learn about such injuries as shock and bleeding, head and spinal injuries, wounds, musculoskeletal injuries, heat and cold illnesses, wilderness specific procedures and much more.

Successful completion of class includes a 2 year Solo Wilderness First Aid certificate.


Upon completion you will be able to confidently identify life threatening injuries
execute life saving first aid measures.


WFA courses may be eligible for EMT Refresher hours.
