1: Hiking minimal, or optional with distances typically 4 miles or less with less than 500 feet of elevation gain, with no requirement to carry a heavy backpack. Great for all experience levels
2: Hiking up to 6 miles with up 1000' of elevation gain. Trips could require carrying a backpack of up to 30 lb. Great for beginner to advanced hikers.
3: Hiking up to 10 miles per day, with elevation gain that can range up to 2000' of elevation gain. Trip could require carrying a backpack in excess of 30 lb due to larger quantities of food, or a required bear canister. Great for intermediate to experienced hikers.
4: Requires regularly hiking 10-12 miles per day, with elevation gain exceeding 2000' on some days. Backpacks in excess of 30 lbs may be required due to larger quantities of food or a required bear canister. Great for intermediate to experienced hikers looking for a challenge.
5: Our hardest trips involve regularly hiking 10-15 miles a day for the duration of the trip, with some days that could exceed 3000' of elevation gain, all while carrying a backpack with supplies for 5 or more days, which may be in excess of 30 lbs. Great for experienced hikers, who love challenges.

In most cases the youngest age for backcountry expeditions is 12. On more advanced trips our minimum age requirement is 16. Please contact us for more details or if you have any questions.

4Points Guides provide outstanding meals and snacks for your entire trip. Our team regularly accommodates for vegan, vegetarian, kosher, gluten free, and allergy related dietary needs*.

4Points recommends that all trip participants consider their physical fitness in regard to their planned route. If you have any questions regarding the difficulty of a particular trip, please call our office so we can provide you with details.

We provide all the group equipment that you’ll need for your trip. Tent, hiking poles, cookware and utensils are included for backpack trips. For biking, climbing or kayaking, we provide all specialized gear.
Personal gear that you will need to bring includes a backpack, sleeping bag and pad, clothes, toiletries, personal medications, etc.
If you need personal gear 4Points has a rental program. Contact us for details on availability.

Our trips are open to everyone. If you have medical concerns, please contact us. Always consult your physician prior to any trip. We require a complete medical history form to be filled out by all participants. All medical information is kept strictly confidential.
Starting a fitness routine prior to your trip is a great way to ensure you can participate safely and enjoy the adventure. Contact us for details on your trip and how best to prepare.

Large groups can be accommodated at front-country campsites within the national park system and at other locations. Backcountry sites are more limited but still an option. Booking early is essential for large groups. Depending on the trail, large groups are 11 or more total people. Contact us for details on large groups and the locations we can explore.

Joining a trip is easy! Sign up on our website or call our office to book: It’s that simple. We require a 50% deposit for all overnight trips; the balance is due 30 days prior to trip departure.
Please note that deposits are non-refundable. Deposits cover the costs for trip planning, permits, meal prep, guide and campsite fees.
Payments can be made by cash, check, money order, or credit card via our website.

If you need to cancel your trip for any reason, contact us AT LEAST 21 days prior to trip departure. If you choose to cancel less than 21 days in advance we cannot provide refunds on any payments.
Should your trip be canceled by 4Points, you will be entitled to a full refund, or you may reschedule at no charge. 4Points Guides reserve the right to cancel a trip or program at any time for participant safety.
Adventure Trips
Wilderness Medicine Courses

In most cases the youngest age for Wilderness Medicine Certification Courses is 16. Exceptions can be made for groups so please contact us for additional information.
CPR courses is 13 years old; however, anyone who can safely perform the required skills is welcome to attend and may be certified at the instructors discretion.

Standard frontcountry WFA and WFR courses do not include meals. We recommend students bring lunch and a snack as well as water for the day.
Backcountry WFA and WFR courses normally require you to bring your own food for the program.

You will receive an email confirmation, along with important information regarding your WFA or WFR course.
This information will include program details, meeting location and time, packing lists and more. Be sure to arrive ON TIME for your class and bring the equipment you would normally carry on a weekend backpacking trip. This is essential for you to have gear to use for skills practice.

For CPR, WFA and WFR courses 4Points instructors will bring group equipment such as CPR manikins, AED’s, etc. They will also bring a variety of specialized gear including blood pressure cuffs, tourniquets, traction splints and more.
Please be sure to bring the required personal equipment for WFA and WFR courses!

Large groups can join existing CPR, WFA or WFR courses; however, groups can also contact us to arrange a private program for your team. We can travel to your selected location to provide CPR, WFA and WFR training both in the US and internationally.

Joining a course is easy. Sign up on our website or call our office to book: It’s that simple. We require payment in full for all CPR, WFA and WFR courses. Please be aware that our training classes are NON-REFUNDABLE but credit can be applied if you need to reschedule.

Because of the cost of materials, instructor fees and permits, we do not provide refunds for CPR. WFA, WFR, WFR-R or WEMT Upgrade courses. Contact us to reschedule if you cannot attend your course for any reason. We will do our best to accommodate you.
