Overview:
Few places in the world offer the variety and beauty of New Zealand. Join us on this once in a lifetime adventure as we hike rugged mountain terrain, kayak pristine coastlines, and learn about life in this island paradise. Our location at the top of the South Island provides easy access to multiple national parks, spectacular wilderness, and inviting small towns ready for us to explore. This trip will introduce you to a new and exciting world; learn about Maori history, art and culture as we experience the best that New Zealand has to offer.

Getting to New Zealand: Multiple carriers offer daily flights to Auckland from a variety of US airports. Air New Zealand offers multiple nonstop options for your flight from Auckland to Nelson.

Accommodations: For these adventures our accommodations will be remote camping with occasional stays at comfortable outdoor centers. These locations include cooked breakfast, a packed lunch and cooked dinner each day. While camping your guide will be creating incredible backcountry meals.
Passports: Must have a valid passport that expires a minimum of 6 months from the start of the trip. At this time US passport holders do not need a visa, but you may be required to show proof of a roundtrip airline ticket.

Client information: Clients need to be physically capable of hiking varied terrain. This trip itinerary is challenging and would be a great option for participants who can comfortably hike 7 + miles per day carrying 35-40 lbs, as well as kayaking in ocean conditions.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Nelson Airport. Drive to accommodations
Day 2: Hiking Abel Tasman National Park. Camp at Awara Bay
Day 3: Hike Abel Tasman. Camp at Anchorage
Day 4: Hike to Marahau. Transfer to accommodations
Day 5: Explore local area around Marahau
Day 6: Explore Nelson
Day 7: Rock climbing at local crag
Day 8: Biking around Northern point of South Island
Day 9: Sea kayaking Abel Tasman. Camp in Able Tasman
Day 10: Sea kayaking Abel Tasman. Return to city accommodations
Day 11: Explore Golden Bay
Day 12: Free morning and depart for airport
