Olympic National Park

Towering trees; dense forest; expansive coastline; roaring waterfalls; incredible flora and fauna. Olympic National Park and the Olympic Peninsula are special places filled with unique adventures.

Our team spent several days exploring the Olympic Peninsula, marveling at fog covered lakes, snow capped mountains, raging waterfalls, and beautiful trails that brought us into the thick of the forest. We loved the quiet and peace found in the depths of these forest trails, and the unexpected encounters with the animals that call this region home.

The weather was just turning towards winter, so we had plenty of snow in the higher elevations, but we were lucky to find reasonably dry conditions during most of our hiking days. There was an endless variety of hikes to challenge us: We spent most of our days deep in the forest. We saved an epic hike along Dungeness Spit, a narrow strip of sand jutting out 5 miles into the Strait of Juan de Fuca on the Northern Edge of the peninsula. This was a great spot to rock hunt. bird watch, seek out that special piece of driftwood, and just appreciate the peace and beauty around us one last day.
